Meet the Founder
Athanasios Seremetis,
BoSC, LLB, GDLP, LLM.
Athanasios (Arthur) founded Hilltop Lawyers on one non-negotiable belief: every person facing a complex legal matter deserves a skilled advocate who genuinely cares, provides strategic advice, and is committed to achieving the strongest possible outcome.
With more than a decade of specialist experience at the hardest end of Australian and migration law, Arthur operates where the stakes are highest. Federal Court litigation, Tribunal appeals, character cancellations, and ministerial matters. The cases where legal precision and personal commitment make the difference.
Arthur also has experience in FOI, privacy law, and government investigations, having previously worked in the regulatory space for a government agency
Arthur's approach is direct, thorough and deeply human. He listens, builds a strategy grounded in the specific facts of your matter, and pursues every available legal avenue with purpose and precision.

-
When a visa decision goes against you, the fight is not over. We represent clients before the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) in the General Division and Migration and Refugee Division (MRD) with a track record built on preparation, precision and persuasive advocacy. We know how these hearings work, and we know how to prepare our clients for success.
-
Character-based visa cancellations are among the most consequential decisions the Department can make. Lives, families and futures are on the line. We specialise in defending these matters, building the strongest possible case for ministerial intervention, tribunal review or Federal Court challenge.
-
When a decision involves an error of law, jurisdictional failure or procedural unfairness, the Federal Court is where it goes. This is high-stakes legal territory that demands technical mastery and courtroom confidence.
-
In exceptional cases, direct Ministerial intervention is the only remaining pathway. We identify those cases, build the submissions that get attention, and advocate where it counts.
-
Not all complexity comes from refusals. Some clients simply have complicated circumstances requiring a clear-eyed, experienced approach from the start. We provide strategic advice and application support that reduces risk and maximises outcome before problems arise.
